The Qibla Finder App,
Private and Ad-Free

A Qibla Compass You Can Trust, Even Offline

1. Private, with no account and no ads

The direction is worked out on your phone from your location. Your location is never sent to Pillars, there is no account to create, and there are no ads covering the compass. If you would rather not share your location, you can choose a city by hand.

2. Works offline, wherever you travel

Because the Qibla is calculated on your phone, the compass does not need an internet connection. It keeps working abroad without mobile data. When you travel, open the compass again where you are. Pillars works out the direction from your current location, so you can find the Qibla in a hotel room, at an airport or at a friend's house without having to ask anyone.

3. Accurate, with a quick recalibration

For an accurate reading, hold your phone flat and keep it away from metal, magnets and phone cases with magnetic clasps, which can throw a phone compass off. If the direction looks wrong, recalibrate by moving your phone in a figure of eight, then turn until the compass points to the Kaaba.

4. One tap from your prayer times, free

The Qibla sits next to your prayer times, so it is one tap from the screen you already open five times a day. With Pillars Premium, the Qibla is on your Apple Watch too. The Qibla is part of the free version of Pillars, alongside prayer times, notifications and the prayer tracker, with no ads. Pillars Premium is an optional subscription on iPhone that adds extras and keeps the app independent.
